The driving technique where the driver intentionally oversteers, causing loss of traction in the rear wheels, while maintaining control from entry to exit of a corner. This popular and fastest growing motorsport on four wheels is being done at the Raceway at least once a month.
Drifting on Guam got its first stint in 2005 with Proffesional D1GP pro driver Katsuhiro Ueo at the Guam International Raceway during a small local competition and demo. Since then some of the best Drift drivers in the world have come thru to perform and compete.
Drifting at the Raceway is done in a closed course inside the 1/4 mile asphalt oval track. A course is set using traffic cones for advance drivers while a skid pad is set up for beginers. First time drifters are trated to a free trial during a scheduled drift day, beginners to the sport are given instruction at no charge by experienced drivers.
The Drift scene here is friendly fun and we encourage anyone interested in the sport to come by and check out our scheduled practices and competitions. Admission is Free for spectators and if you're lucky, you can jump in and ride-a-long with a drifter once you've filled out a waiver.
